Paradise also known as Maui
We were fortunate enough to spend 8 days in Maui at our favorite resort this month. It was a much needed break from the winter blues. Ellie made a great friend, Lauren, who we met at the airport and coincidentally was staying at our hotel for the same exact days as us. They hung out 24/7 and was a bonus for Robert and I who didn't have to entertain her at all. Another weird coincidence was when Lauren's mother and I realized we had gone to jr. high together in Northern California and had even gone on an 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. together. Small world even on an island.
We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed perfect weather every day. We did a half day trip on a boat to 2 different snorkeling sights. Mame was great on the boat and Ellie was great in the water. She snorkeled like a champ even when the huge sea turtle came right up to her face. We saw beautiful coral and fish of every color. I love being in the ocean as well as spending time on a boat with good food and great weather. We even had the pleasure of seeing a bunch of whales really close up. It is whale season right now and they are everywhere. You really can't go out on a boat and not run into them. Even from the beach you can see them jumping out of the water.
Scarlett has turned out not to be quite the water baby that Ellie was but she still enjoyed wearing minimal clothing and watching Ellie swim for hours in the giant pool. Even though she didn't love the water, everyone loved her. Scarlett was the movie star of the resort and in a place full of families with babies close to her age she stood out as the most petite by at least 10 pounds. She was votest cutest baby at the beach and we of course agree.
We will miss the warm nights watching the sun go down over the ocean while drinking pineapple smoothies but have vowed to return next year for a cool two weeks if we can.

Peek-a-boo
We just got back from an awesome week in Maui. Photos to follow. Here's a little peek-a-boo airport fun with Lil' Mame. Anything for a good laugh to help get through the last 6 weeks of winter. 80 degrees = good. Snow = bad. Boo hoo for us.
